Increased Prize Money and More Winners in New Format

The Government of Kerala has officially announced significant updates to its popular Sthree Sakthi (SS) Weekly Lottery through a notification dated March 28, 2025. The revamped scheme brings a more rewarding prize structure and expands the number of winners across various prize categories.
This move supersedes the earlier notification issued in February 2021, aligning with the Government’s objective to boost participation and make the lottery more lucrative for ticket buyers.

- Ticket Price: ₹50 (₹39.06 base price + 28% GST)
- Total Tickets Printed: 1.08 crore
- Total Prize Money: ₹24.13 crore

The number of digit-based prize draws has been increased, with the introduction of additional draw rounds under categories VI, VII, VIII, and IX—providing more chances for ticket holders to win. The cumulative prize amount distributed through all categories totals over ₹24 crore, with agent commissions adjusted accordingly.
Fair and Transparent Draw Process
The draw process remains highly transparent, conducted using a mechanical randomizer under the supervision of at least three judges, and potentially broadcast live on television and social media platforms of the State Lotteries Department. Any draw involving unsold numbers will be repeated, ensuring fairness.

According to the official notification, the enhancements are aimed at increasing the number of prizes and creating more opportunities for winning. This aligns with Kerala’s broader effort to strengthen its state-run lottery system as a source of revenue while maintaining transparency and regulatory compliance.
